DPA Microphones has named UniAudio, a newly-formed company, as its distributor in the south-east Asian market.
The Singapore-based distributor has signed an agreement that covers Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines and Indonesia.
Founded by former Sennheiser Electronic Asia Pte sales manager Yusof Ahmad, UniAudio Asia will distribute key brands throughout south-east Asia. Ahmad describes the philosophy behind his company as being “about people, people and people.” Among those joining him at the company are Bryan Lee as head of sales, Thomas Sim as assistant sales manager, system engineer Wahab Jaffar, product trainer Charlie Yu and marketing and communications executive Amanda Tham.
Ahmad explained that brands within the growing product portfolio are intended to compliment one another. “DPA completes the circuit with its fine-crafted miniature and headset microphones,” he said. “DPA's credibility in microphone manufacturing is definitely well entrenched. If there's a word to describe the brand, then it is finesse. I'm not new to DPA – I've used them on many occasions before and I love the microphones’ sonic signature.”
Ken Kimura, DPA’s regional sales director for the Asia Pacific, added: “I am excited about having UniAudio Asia on board and confident that Yusof Ahmad and his colleagues, with their extended experience from the industry, will take DPA Microphones to the next level and strengthen our regional presence. UniAudio Asia will spearhead our promotional activities in south east Asia and carry our full product range which also includes our 4099 clip mics for various instruments as well as our newly introduced Reference Standard microphones.”
