The Beatles’ music provides the soundtrack to a short, animated film aimed at raising awareness of how to purchase music legally. The film charts the life of a central character, emphasising the importance of The Beatles’ music throughout his childhood and adult years.
The Why Music Matters campaign, which began in 2010, suggests that without a sustainable system in place for the purchasing of music, artists such as The Beatles may not have existed. Artists including Cee Lo Green, Ellie Goulding, Dizzie Rascal and Duran Duran's Simon Le Bon, to name but a few, have publicly voiced their support of the campaign.
Furthermore, the campaign is asking artists to contribute videos and commentary about the value and importance of music. Acts such as The Jam, Elbow and Paloma Faith have all backed videos on the Why Music Matters website.
