London-based Sphere Studios has added a Prism Sound Maselec MEA-2 analogue equaliser and MLA-2 analogue compressor as part of its on-going refurbishment.

The stereo, or 2-channel MEA-2 and MLA-2, are designed to provide a transparent signal path and fully-stepped controls for all parameters.

Sphere Studios owner Franc Cameli, said: “I was looking for an alternative to strap across the mix bus of our consoles and my search led me to look at mastering insert management systems. Having found the item I required, all I needed was to find the best possible processing to insert over our mixes.”

Sphere Studios already has a significant investment in Prism Sound equipment, having added ten Prism Sound ADA-8XR multi-channel modular AD/DA converters to its stock and installing them in both studios one and two in recent months.

“Everyone at Sphere noted the sonic excellence of our Prism Sound ADA-8XRs so Prism Sound's MEA-2 and MLA-2 were the natural choice for ultra clean, powerful processing,” Cameli added. “We can now offer our clients access to almost every great piece of gear Prism Sound makes.”
