Miloco Studios has teamed up with The Retreat Recording Studios near Brighton, UK, to offer a brand new residential recording facility.

The two-studio complex is situated in Ovingdean – a village located 15 minutes away from the city centre.

The first studio is equipped with a 12-channel 1970s Neve PSM console, Pro Tools HD, a variety of outboard equipment and a wide array of high-end mics, including products from Neumann, Coles, AEA and Earthworks. The main live room features a high-vaulted ceiling and an acoustic tone that has been tweaked to give the user clear, accurate recordings without affecting the 'character' of the room. The space is ideal for recording drums, brass and vocals, and is particularly suited to acoustic projects. The second live room is home to a Yamaha C6 concert grand piano.

The second studio is a mix / comping / editing room that is especially useful for any Pro Tools work that does not need tracking facilities. Kitted out with a pair of Spendors SA500s, the room also offers a selection of outboard gear, such as a Chiswick Reach and a Clariphonic.

Visitors are also invited to stay in a converted barn just two minutes walk from the main facility.

"Sensational bespoke live rooms and vintage preamps. A beautiful grand piano. A spectacular setting. Retreat is a truly inspirational mix of all of these things," said The Retreat's owner Chris Phillips.
