Hookend Studios has installed a set of new Apogee Symphony audio converters as part of an audio refit.

In what studio owner Mark White dubbed a “sonic refurb” the four Apogee Symphony Chassis’ allow for up to 48 input channels and 80 output channels from the huge SSL console at the studio.
Resident engineer Grahame Baldwin, explained: “The Apogees give us seamless integration with the existing Pro Tools HD systems as well as a much cleaner sound, better imaging and effectively as many ins and outs as we could want.”

The new flagship product; the Apogee Symphony I/O is the result of 25 years of research and development, aiming to take sound quality to the next level. Symphony I/O builds upon the design approaches of Apogee’s X-Series and Rosetta Series converters, the Big Ben master clock and the Trak2 mic preamps.

Only a few years ago, Hookend Manor and Studio underwent a full refurbishment, with one of the UK’s largest SSl consoles - a 96 channel J Series frame with 80 modules – at its core.
