Dave Grohl is set to direct a documentary on Sound City Studios, the facility famed for the recording of Nirvana’s Nevermind album, NME has reported.
Kevin Cronin, of REO Speedwagon, recently revealed details of the project to Artisan News, saying: “Dave is working on this project based on a studio that we all used to work at. It’s really interesting. I probably shouldn’t be talking about it – Dave will probably announce it. But it’s very cool. I’ve been in contact with him lately.”
He continued: “There was a studio that all of us worked at, where they recorded Nevermind, and I know that it meant a lot to a lot of artists. So Dave is just kind of putting together something to get the stories that all the artists had about that studio.”
No title or release date has yet been revealed for the film.
