Former Clear Cut commercial director joins Molinare

Richard Hobbs will head up the company's sales team, focusing on strategy and business development across all genres.

Film and broadcast post-production house Molinare has named Richard Hobbs as its new commercial director.

Hobbs, who will become part of the senior management team when he starts his new role on 1 September 2015, joins from post facility Clear Cut Pictures, where he spent nine years in various senior positions, including the last five as commercial director.

He was responsible for Clear Cut's sales and marketing strategy and led the firm to a 'vast increase in turnover,' expanding it from one site to three and refocusing its client base towards independent production companies.

Before beginning his career at Clear Cut as a senior post producer in 2006, Hobbs worked as a freelance producer and editor on a variety of productions.

His new role at Molinare, which announced its acquisition of Hackenbacker last month, will see Hobbs head up the sales team, focusing on the strategy and business development across all genres, with responsibility for overseeing its existing client relationships while also developing its factual strand further.
