The manufacturer is introducing more than a dozen new audio products at its stand in Hall 8 E61.
Marcus Brooke, Managing Director of Sonifex said: "IBC is the main platform for Sonifex to launch and showcase new product designs and this year we have a number of broadcast product additions to interest our customers. Our new talkback and communications products include two headphone amp belt-packs and GSM/PSTN comms links for our talkback controller".
The new products include a range of Redbox quad x three way passive splitters: the RB-AES4B3 AESID3 splitter with BNC connectors, the RB-AES4X3 AES/EBU splitter with XLR connectors and the RB-MS4X3 microphone splitter. These are also available in a small form factor as single three way splitters: the CM-AESB3 AES3ID splitter (BNC), the CM-AESX3 AES/EBU splitter (XLR) and the CM-MS3 microphone splitter.
Also released is the RB-SD1IP silence detection unit with Ethernet & USB, an upgrade to the existing RB-SD1; and the RB-FS82 audio failover switcher for use with banks of multiple encoders and decoders. The RB-VHDA2x4 is a new 3G/HD/SD-SDI 2 input, 8 output video distribution amplifier.
The existing CM-TB8 8 channel talkback control unit has two new add-in cards: the CM-TBG with 2 x GSM lines and the CM-TBT with 2 x telephone hybrids.
Finally two new portable, battery powered belt packs have been announced: the CM-BH4W 2-wire/4-wire headphone amp with speaker and the CM-BHA headphone amplifier with limiter & loudspeaker, for use in live applications such as in-the-field news reports. The CM-BH4W uses audio transformers at its input and output, providing galvanic isolation and ensuring that communications are loud and clear. It can operate in 4-wire and IFB modes with an AGC to maintain output level, using a talk switch which can be latching or momentary. The CM-BHA has a wide incoming signal gain and an adjustable limiter to prevent and indicate excessive levels. Both units have a long battery life (up to 200 hours on one 9V battery) and a low battery warning LED.
