Behringer's X32 Core mixer is now available from authorised dealers and online stores worldwide.

The 40-Input, 25-Bus digital mixer packs all the mixing capabilities of the original X32 into a single rack space.

According to Behringer, the X32 Core is designed for users seeking "world-class audio processing, plus advanced remote-control for live sound, install and recording solutions."

It is particularly useful in all AES50-based pro audio environments, and can be combined with Behringer's Cat 5e digital audio systems, such as the S16 stage boxes, P16 personal monitors and iQ-Series speakers.

Up to six S16 boxes – each with 16 Midas-design preamps – can be connected to two of Klark Teknik's SuperMac AES50 ports, resulting in a total of 96 inputs and 48 outputs. Full Ethernet and OSC based remote control of all mixing parameters is available via the free X32-Mix app for iPad, or the X32-Edit software for Mac, Windows and Linux, which is also free.

Connecting the mixer to any available wired or wireless IP network allows the engineer to move around and make alterations to parameters from anywhere in the venue, while performers can use the X32-Q app for iPhone to mix their own wired or wireless personal monitor sound right on stage.

The X32 Core's complete 40-bit floating point low-latency channel strip and mix bus processing, along with its eight stereo FX engines, provide plenty of power for live productions. A built-in two-track USB recorder is included for recording any two channels of audio assigned to it as well. The card slot accepts all existing and future X32 series expansion cards (optional), and users can also download a free copy of the Tracktion 4 software, and take advantage of the integrated, removable 32 x 32 channel USB recording interface card.

“Our new X32 Core puts full-scale digital recording and live sound mixing within the grasp of an entirely new market," said Music Group’s X32 product manager, Jan Duwe. "Now convention centers, cruise ships, multi-room studios and venues with multiple stages can benefit from the X32’s amazing technology – even if space/budget constraints prohibit a full-size console. The addition of free Tracktion 4 provides a complete live sound and studio recording solution.”

The X32 CORE has a US MAP (minimum advertised price) of $999.99, and is covered by Music Group’s Three-Year Limited Warranty Program.
