This year’s Bestival, which begins this coming Friday (September 7th), is to become the first UK festival to broadcast live on YouTube, CMU has reported.
Based on the Isle of Wight, Bestival has also announced that it has entered into a new partnership with Whizz Kid, the production company behind U2′s live YouTube webcast from Pasadena back in 2009.
Bestival’s Rob da Bank said: “I’ve been watching festivals such as Coachella and Tomorrowland on YouTube and loving the futuristic new angle on showing festivals in a different light via a medium that nearly everyone in the music and festival worlds is tuned into. We’re really pleased that Bestival is the first UK festival to go down this route.”
This year’s Bestival is headlined by Stevie Wonder, Florence and the Machine and New Order.
