The return of the Stone Roses has seen the band break UK records, with three shows at Manchester’s Heaton Park selling out in just over an hour.
Initially announcing two dates, which saw 150,000 tickets sold in 14 minutes, the band then added a third show, taking their gross profit thus far to £12.3million. However, this figure is sure to rise substantially, with a full world tour to be announced soon.
Demand for tickets has been unprecedented, with a bid of over £1million having been made on eBay. While some are saying that this may well be a ploy by fans to dissuade touts from charging obscene prices, many tickets are already being sold for hundreds of pounds.
The band’s Heaton Park performances take place on June 29th, 30th and July 1st.
