Midas has launched its brand new PRO1 digital mixing console at InfoComm 2012 in Las Vegas.

The news follows hot on the heels of Music Group’s announcement that it has purchased loudspeaker manufacturer Turbosound, following the group’s acquisition of Midas and Klark Teknik back in 2009.

The new Midas PRO1 console comes with a brand new lightweight aluminium frame – the company’s first ever stand-alone console. Midas brand development manager Richard Ferriday, stated: “The PRO1 opens new territory for Midas on a number of different levels. New manufacturing materials and techniques, the first stand-alone Midas digital console, with comprehensive I/O on the back, and a previously undreamt-of price point.

“The PRO1 will be accessible to free-lance engineers, small music venues, anyone who actually cares about audio quality, reliability and portability.”
