The Red Hook-based Firehouse Productions is using the full L-Acoustics K1 system for Peter Gabriel’s brief tour celebrating the 25th Anniversary of his multiplatinum album So.
The 13-city run, that began on September 16th and finishes October 14th, will mostly use a FOH system incorporating both left and right hangs of 14 K1 as well as six KARA below of down-fill and adjacent hangs of eight K1-SB subs.
Out-fills tend to be comprised of a further 10 K1 and six KARA flown per side, paired with eight ARCS and six dV-DOSC below for front- and lip-fill.
"I've been using K1 since 2008 and have not come across a better system for large-scale shows," says Firehouse Productions System Tech Jamie Pollack, whose touring experience includes catering for likes of Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails and Bob Dylan.
The tour is also utilizing 20 SB28 subs in an LCR configuring, each in cardioid mode. Powering the whole affair are 48 LA8 amplified controllers arranged in eight LA-RAK per side and the tour will also benefit from the use of L-Acoustics 3D Simulation software Soundvision.
"The most important part of my day is spent using Soundvision to map out each space and create a prediction of the ideal system for the environment. The software is extremely accurate at modeling what the final result will be and there's never a question of coverage” added Pollack.
