Less than two weeks after the T in the Park 2011 festival, early bird tickets for next year’s event have already sold out, Music Week has reported.
With such an unprecedented response to the festival’s early bird tickets release, festival organisers and Tayside police have been quick to praise the behaviour of the fans at this year’s event, which took place between July 7th and 11th. Festival director Geoff Ellis highlighted excellent policing and stewarding as part of the success, noting the festival was one of the safest ever.
The Festival's Citizen T initiative, which encouraged fans to look out for their neighbours and the environment around the festival site, also played a part. Ellis added, “Citizen T generates a feeling of being part of one big family - it harnesses the already legendary campsite atmosphere and is an initiative which has been embraced by our audience. We will certainly be looking to expand on this again next year.”
