DPA Microphones has released its new d:vote 4099 Rock and Classical Touring Kits.
Available in four-piece or ten-piece Peli case packages, the new Rock Kits were launched following the increasing popularity of the d:vote range among big bands such as Metallica and Paramore, the company says.
“The d:vote is becoming increasingly popular with the rock music market, so we wanted to offer something special to make engineers’ jobs easier,” said DPA CEO Christian Poulsen. “In speaking with fans, we quickly realised that this wide acceptance is largely attributed to the fact that DPA is the only microphone company to offer adapters for its miniature instrument mics.
"With other brands, engineers usually have to use tape or Velcro to get the mics to stay in place in certain areas that prove to be the best placements. d:vote has clips for all instruments and, with the new kits, engineers have an ingenious solution.”
The ten-piece d:vote Rock Touring Kit comprises ten high-SPL d:votes, ten microdot-XLR adapters, ten heavy-duty mic cables as well as seven drum clips, five sax/trumpet clips and four universal clips. The four-piece Kit consists of four d:votes with two universal clips and four for each drum, sax and trumpet, along with four mic cables and four microdot adapters. Both Kits come with a Peli case.
Like the Rock range, the four-piece Classical Kit offers four high-SPL d:votes, four microdot-XLR adapters and four mini mic cables. Also included are four violin clips, two for cello, one universal and one extra for each guitar, sax, trumpet or bass. The ten-piece Kit has ten mics, adapters and cables, as well as eight violin clips, four for piano, three for cello, two universal and two for each piano, sax, trumpet, bass and drum.
The d:vote condenser mics in both Kits provide supercardioid polar patterns, and are capable of handling high sound-pressure levels. The d:vote’s MicroDot-XLR connector and various adapters ensure compatibility with most wireless systems. It can also be used as a standard 48V phantom-powered mic via the supplied XLR connector.
