American nu metal group Coal Chamber’s latest tour was mixed on a Behringer X32 console.

The band's sound engineer Leonard Contreras became a fan of the X32 after exploring the system's features at Los Angeles' Whisky a Go Go, where he is the club’s production manager and FOH engineer.

Having got to grips with the desk at the LA venue, Contreras was keen to find out how it would perform when taken out on the road. “I was so impressed...it was an easy setup and the features were phenomenal,” he said.

The X32 can be controlled remotely via iPad, which is particularly useful on tour, as Contreras discovered. “The navigation, the feel, the lack of latency between the console and iPad was a big factor – I was impressed by that,” he continued.

“I got to explore all the features and hear it through multiple PA systems in different venues, and the sound was phenomenal...After that tour, I was sold.”
