The certified training days are aimed at industry professionals and engineers, and are designed to provide delegates with a theoretical knowledge of the systems and a chance to get some ‘hands on’ experience with the mixers during interactive sessions.
The training series began with an event at Base Sound in Stroud on August 3rd, with six further sessions – in locations including Glastonbury, London, Leeds and York – planned for the coming months.
Response from attendees at the initial training day at Base Sound was positive, with Andy Woodward from AW-PA Sound Systems in Kent commenting: “It was really informative, in a non-technical way for people with little digital experience. These are great desks with an impressive feature set. Until the training session I didn’t realise just how much you can do with them.”
Stuart McKay, Audio-Technica’s digital console and installation specialist, added, “We’ve been very pleased with the reaction to the first GLD/iLive training. Rather than being sales-oriented, the sessions are specifically aimed at simply demonstrating the capabilities of the systems, and watching visitors who had never used a digital console previously mixing a multi-tracked band by the end of the day was very satisfying.
“I’d encourage anyone interested in learning more about the new Allen & Heath desks – whether the basics, or more advanced functionality including digital networking and remote iPad control etc – to book a place on a training day as soon as possible.”
