German manufacturer X-Machines has been given official certification from Steinberg for its new Recorder.1 live recording system.
X-Machines sees Steinberg's Nuendo Live software as the ideal complement to Recorder.1 – the world's first 1U recorder to offer up to 194 input channels and allow simultaneous use of up to 390 I/O channels, according to the Hamburg-based firm.
Recorder.1 was designed for professional use with MADI or Dante audio networks. Record-ready in 33 seconds, the 19“ rack-mountable device enables 24-plus hours of recording in a EBU-compliant RIFF64 format. It's also designed to be easy to use, and promises 'rock solid' reliability, even under extreme recording conditions.
“We are very pleased about the Recorder.1 certification from Steinberg,” said Patrick Strenge, CEO of XI-Machines. “This compact recording unit makes optimal use of Nuendo Live features to the full. As of now, sound engineers are able to record extensive audio sessions on the road with up to 192kHz without the hassle of lugging around large, heavy racks and extensive cabling.
"With the unique capabilities of our hardware and Nuendo Live, Recorder.1 is no doubt one of the most powerful audio systems for festival, broadcast, concert and complex studio recording available today."
With pricing from €3,990 (excluding VAT), Recorder.1 now comes with Nuendo Live pre-installed and configured, and has already started shipping direct worldwide.
