Soho-based facility The Jungle Group will bring its audio facilities under one roof with a £500,000 refurbishment of its Wardour Street offices. This restructure follows the news that Jungle’s Dean Street facility will not be granted a new lease when it expires in August – a result of the landlord’s decision to redevelop the building for residential use.
This move will see the company refocus its business back to its audio heritage, specialising in music and sound design for advertising, promo and broadcast. Jungle will continue to provide audio services for the company’s former VFX and production arms, however they will no longer be under the Jungle umbrella but instead will operate in their own right.
Graham Ebbs, Managing Director, Jungle, said: “Whilst initially a huge shock, the forced closure of our Dean Street facility provides a great opportunity to reassess Jungle’s business model and the services we offer. Jungle has always been best known for its excellence in audio post and this was a major factor in our decision to go back to our roots and focus on audio and music design as our core offering.
“Although VFX and production will no longer be part of Jungle’s portfolio we continue to work closely with the teams to provide these services when required by our clients.”
Jungle will knock through its existing offices at 143 and 145 Wardour Street to create one building with a shared entrance. The first floor will be completely refurbished with a new reception and Dolby cinema studio. Jungle is also building three new audio studios taking its total number to 10. A café and bar will be created for clients and staff to work and socialise.
For the studios, building company Oakwood are to carry out the building work. The interior design is by Guy Wilson at AKA Design.
For the more general refurbishment work, Jungle will work with Bentheim.
