NAMM 2016: Waves debuts new virtual mix room plug-in
Nx "unmasks" headphone sound, allowing the user to hear everything as they would through speakers.
Waves Audio has debuted Waves Nx, a new virtual mix room plug-in at NAMM 2016.
Powered by Waves’ Nx technology, the plugin enables the user to hear, on headphones, the same depth, reflections, and panoramic stereo image heard through speakers in an actual, physical room.
Waves Nx “unmasks” headphone sound, allowing the user to hear everything with “real-world dimension”.
Waves Audio says that the new plugin finally bridges the gap between monitoring on speakers and monitoring on headphones, putting an end to constant cross-referencing between headphone and stereo sound.
Key features of Waves Nx include:
- The acoustics of a professional mix room – inside your headphones
- Hear natural depth and real-world stereo image over headphones
- Mix for 5.1 surround on your regular stereo speakers
- Use Waves Nx with real-time head tracking for enhanced realism
