NAMM 2016: Mackie adds new portable subwoofer
The SRM1550 sub, designed as a companion to the firm's portable series loudspeakers, saw its debut at this year’s NAMM Show.
Mackie has unveiled a new addition to its SRM portable series, the SRM1550 Portable Powered Subwoofer, at The NAMM Show 2016.
The SRM1550, designed to compliment the popular SRM450 and SRM350 powered loudspeakers, features a 1200W amplifier, custom high-output 15-inch woofer, digital variable crossover, and the familiar appearance of the SRM portable series.
The sub’s internally reinforced Poplar cabinet delivers on the robust reputation that the SRM series is known for, and its front-ported design provides maximum punch and low-frequency extension. Built-in Smart Protect DSP protects the 15-inch woofer when pushed to the limit.
"The SRM Series is the most proven portable loudspeaker design in the industry, renowned for delivering pro performance and sound quality at an affordable price," remarked Jon Rundle, Mackie product manager. "The new SRM1550 continues this legacy offering the power, versatility, and looks that make it the ultimate companion to the SRM350 and SRM450."
The new Mackie SRM1550 1200W 15" Powered Subwoofer will be available in April, carrying a US MSRP of $999.99.
