Dual 18in XY-218HS is designed to deliver ultra-low frequencies at a high enough SPL for large venues and outdoor events.

Pioneer Pro Audio is adding to its XY Series with the launch of a new XY-218HS dual 18in, fully horn-loaded subwoofer.

Designed to deliver ultra-low frequencies at a high enough SPL for large venues and outdoor events, the XY-218HS has a coiled horn to magnify the sound from its two 18in LF drivers, producing a rapid bass response of 33Hz-150Hz that throws long distances without loss of SPL. Its multi-laminate birch plywood enclosure is reinforced with rigged support braces to reduce resonance and distortion, and withstand life on the road.

Other features include a stackable design with recessed stacking slots, front and side handles and optional castors.

The company describes the new subwoofer – available from July 2016 at an SRP of €4,000 excluding VAT – as the perfect complement to its XY-122 and XY-152 two-way speakers.
