New series offers Advanced DSP technology, a larger box 'for better bass' and claims 'three times the power of the competition'.

Peavey has revealed its new range of PVXp DSP powered enclosures aimed at musicians looking for a reliable PA, DJs or contractors seeking a flexible, flyable solution for a variety of installations.

The PVXp DSP series offers ADSP (Advanced Digital Signal Processing) technology, a larger box 'for better bass' and claims 'three times the power of the competition'.

The two models in the range, the 12in PVXp 12 DSP and the 15in PVXp 15 DSP, are capable of producing 128 dB SPL, and include a 'rugged yet compact' 50 oz. magnet paired with a 2 3/8" voice coil, which is teamed with the Peavey RX 14 driver housing a 1.4" titanium diaphragm. The asymmetrical horn keeps the sound focused towards the audience via Peavey’s Quadratic Throat Waveguide Technology that aims coverage within a 100° by 50° radius (15° upwards and 35° downwards) and the combination of XLR 1/4" TRS combo jack, a built in mic-pre, and a ground lift ensure easy operation. Thru Output via male XLR and a separate 1/4" TRS phone jack are featured on both speakers as well.

At the heart of the PVXp DSP series is the ADSP with adjustable EQ. EQ presets include Music, EDM, Rock/Country/Hip-Hop, Acoustic, Voice, Church, and Monitor, and offer adjustable Treble and Bass to suit the environment as needed.

The speakers are also fan-cooled, and can be easily be placed into a trunk or backseat when on the move. The PVXp 12 DSP measures 24.5" (H) x 16.1" (W) x 15" (D) and 43 lbs/19.5 kg, while the PVXp 15 DSP comes in at 28.25" (H) x 18.9" (W) x 18.71" (D) and 51 lbs/23.13 kg.

Both the PVXp 12 DSP and PVXp 15 DSP have rugged injection-molded plastic trapezoidal enclosures with full-coverage, perforated steel grilles, powdered finish and sturdy flying point inserts on the top, bottom, and right side, along with additional PVX eyebolt kit or Peavey Versamount VM 70 mounting systems for ceiling or wall mounting. They also have settings specifically for wall, pole, or fly mounting applications.

Finally, should the original factory DSP settings need to be restored at any time, there is a system reset with confirmation.

The PVXp 12 DSP is available for $549.99 (US MSRP), while the PVXp 15 DSP is priced at $599.99.
