Coda AiRAY takes centre stage at Switzerland's Gurten Festival
System was used in combination with ViRAY on the Waldbuhne stage, attracting "positive feedback from every quarter."
Coda Audio’s AiRAY loudspeaker system was in action at a number of festivals in Switzerland this summer, including a deployment on the Waldbuhne stage at Gurten Festival – situated on a picturesque hillside outside Berne – in July.
Coda distributor and event technology service provider, Schallwerk, also gave the system its Swiss debut the month previous at the B-Sides Festival, a popular alternative event in Lucerne.
Used in combination with Coda ViRAY boxes for downfill and delays, AiRAY "attracted positive feedback from every quarter," according to Coda.
Bruno Muff of Schallwerk reflected on AiRAY's advantages: "First of all AiRAY has unbelievably great sound - extremely direct, punchy and snappy. The system provided the right dynamics with ease and is remarkable for its immense headroom. The small cabinet size is very discreet and significantly less susceptible to the effects of the wind. System set-up is very efficient, which in this instance (at Gurten) was important because the topography of the site was quite a challenge," he said.
“Accessibility was very limited for vehicles - it's a one way route from the city to the site and the fact that we were able to fit the whole system in one 18-tonne truck was a huge advantage. In such a challenging arena we had only positive feedback from the technical crew who highlighted, in particular, the high directivity offered by AiRAY, which delivered an uncompromising sound even at a moderate volume level."
Schallwerk's AiRAY system also maintained its presence on the Swiss Festival circuit at the popular Funk Am See festival on the shores of Lake Lucerne in mid-August.
