Game Music Connect 2015

Returning for its third year, the game music conference will be held at London's Southbank centre on September 15.

Game Music Connect returns for its third year this autumn, bringing together game audio professionals from all over the world.

Founded by multiple-award-winning game and TV composer James Hannigan and game audio director, composer and industry commentator John Broomhall, the event is for aspiring and professional composers of all backgrounds and those interested in learning about the art and craft of creating today’s video game soundtracks.

Following a symposium format, there will be talks, practical demonstrations and round-table discussions with artists, innovators and decision makers in the world of music for games.

This year’s programme is set to feature sessions focussing on Virtual Reality and its effect on the industry, as well as a range of diverse practical topics ranging from live orchestral recording and interactive music engines through to sample library creation and showreel presentation.

The first session announced, ‘To Be Or Not To Be: Music for VR’, will be a discussion on the role of music in VR experiences, and how the changing relationship between game sound and music is bringing the work of composers and sound designers closer together.

The conference will be held on September 15 in the Purcell Room at London's Southbank Centre.
