Wharfedale Pro announces double appointment
Peter Peck is the loudspeaker manufacturer's new head of marketing and Steve Hutt joins as director of R&D.
International Audio Group (IAG) has announced two senior appointments for loudspeaker manufacturer Wharfedale Pro, with Peter Peck taking the role of head of marketing and Steve Hutt (pictured) joining as director of R&D.
As AMI sister publication MI Pro recently reported, Peck, former marketing manager at Yamaha and more recently sales manager at Steinberg, brings a wealth of pro-audio marketing and business experience to the Wharfedale Pro brand.
Commenting on his new position, Peck said: “I’ll be hitting the ground running! It’s a great brand with many new products coming soon. I look forward to working with the team and supporting the distribution network to grow the Wharfedale Pro business. See you in Frankfurt.”
Tim Chang, IAG director, added: “We are delighted to have Peter on board to support our ambitious growth plans around the world. His expertise complements our existing team and will help drive the activities within our sales network.”
With more than 30 years in the professional audio business, Hutt chairs the AES standards and technical committees on loudspeakers, has authored numerous AES technical papers and holds 15 patents.
Hutt comes to Wharfedale Pro having spent time in technical and leadership roles at Harman, THX and Eighteen Sound, to name a few.
Chang continued: “As a division of IAG, Wharfedale Pro is in a unique position with its extraordinary vertical integration where we build not just the box and speaker, but everything in house. Very few pro audio systems companies still manufacture their own woofers and compression drivers let alone cones, spiders, voice-coils and HF domes - not to mention amplifiers and DSP electronics. We are releasing numerous new products this year, leveraging this in-house capability to bring a new level of high performance systems to the Wharfedale Pro catalogue.”
