Innovation In Music (InMusic) is a European music industry conference featuring keynote lectures and panel sessions with award winning music industry professionals.

Innovation In Music (InMusic) is a European music industry conference hosted by the University of Westminster with the 2017 lineup featuring keynote lectures and panel sessions hosted by award winning music industry professionals including Imogen Heap, Talvin Singh, Mandy Parnell and Ken Scott.

Day two of the conference saw the 'Innovation Panel' take place featuring (pictured l-r) Josh Saunders (head of technical & creative Warner Music Group), Jon Eades (innovation manager at Abbey Road), music producer Hakan Libdo and digital artist Adam John Williams.

Topics discussed included the future of artificial intelligence in music production and performance as well as virtual reality.

The conference also featured a number of 15 minute paper presentations on various music and music technology-related topics.

Renowned engineer Phill Harding and Dr. Paul Thompson of Leeds Beckett University presented a paper on Collective Creativity (a service, model of creativity in commercial pop music) where they delved into the way pop producers work and the hierarchy during the production process.

Joe Watson presented a paper on 'Questioning progress narratives in contemporary studio production', while Dan Sanders discussed the 'Mix and Persona' where he explored the way different mixes evoke different types of emotions, using different mixes of Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit and Diana Ross' I'm Coming Out as examples.

Day three will feature a keynote interview with Mandy Parnell as well as a production panel featuring the likes of Ken Scott, which AMI will be covering in full.
